Framing Information

Beta Theta Pi at the University of Minnesota , Minneapolis, MN
Unknown, architect(s). From the American Architect and Building News, 1902. 6 by 7.25 inches. VG+ condition with browning around the edges and light crinkling.
Photogravure. The Beta Pi chapter of Beta Theta Pi was formed in 1889 when our brothers from across the border (the Alpha Pi chapter of Madison) came and initiated the founding members. Since then the Beta Pi chapter has seen great success despite rough periods, and in the end had continued to uphold the principles of Beta Theta Pi. All of the members of the Minnesota chapter have put in a lot of work to making a great group of men, and have been rewarded for all of their dedication. The Beta Pi chapter has received the Chapter of Excellence award three years running, and has received the Knox award for 2011. The Knox award is the highest honor granted to a chapter for succeeding expectations with all the pillars of Beta Theta Pi. After a lot of work this year we hope to receive another award for the 11-12 school year. This picture is extremely hard to find. The Greek Letter Men had a very small circulation during this time and these original photogravures only appeared in a very limited number of issues. It measures 6 by 7.25 inches. Has a mat border and foam core backing (not attached to the picture). The whole picture measures approximately 8.5 by 11 inches (with border). Extraordinary detail in this early photographic print. Shrink wrapped.
