Washington DC

Our nation’s capital is unique in both its culture and history, and this has been reflected through its incredible architecture. The famous Burning of Washington during the war of 1812 didn’t destroy the beauty and history that this city embodies, and our collection of original hand-colored antique architectural plans and prints, gelatines, lithographs, and photogravures proves this. Through the houses, churches, and buildings in Washington D.C., one can see the range of building activity taking place in the state.  Famous architects such as Smithmeyer, Pelz, and Casey (who designed the Library of Congress) are featured in this collection.
