Czecho-Slovakian Church St. John of Nepomuk, New York,1926,Lithograph. John V. Van Pelt.
A Beautifully Detailed, Original Lithograph of Main Doorway, Czecho-Slovakian Church of St. John of Nepomuk, New York. EARLY PHOTOGRAPH. John V. Van Pelt, Architect. From the American Architect, February 20, 1926. NOTE: we also have a very nice photograph of Rose Window of this fine Church up on eBay.
This picture is extremely hard to find. The American Architect and Building News had a very small circulation during this time and these original lithographs only appeared in a very limited number of issues that were distributed to a few prominent architects. It measures 8.5 by 11.75 inches. Has a mat border and foam core backing (not attached to the picture). The whole picture measures approximately 12 by 16 inches (with border). Extraordinary detail in this early photographic print. Shrink wrapped.
Plan is in VG+ condition with browning around the edges and light crinkling. Owner's stamp on right margin.
This is a highly unusual, scarce item. See our other auctions for more original pictures from this era.
